Sabbaday Waterfalls near Bartlett Inn NH

Sabbaday Falls New Hampshire is a Family Friendly Hike near Bartlett Inn NH located 3 miles WEst of Bear Notch Road on teh Kancamangus Highwayy US RTE 112. THis is a great hike for youn g and old and handicap and everyone in between as teh trail is wood chipped without lots of trippy rocks and large logs across it. Tehre are several benches to rest along the way and for a very little effort these are my favorite Waterfalls in New Hampshire.  Theya re jsut beautiful from teh emerald pool at the bottom to the several flumes and drops along the way…raw power and beauty.  Stay at teh BArtlett Inn in Bartlett NH as a central place to explore the many stunning WATERFALLS  of New Hampshire and teh White Mountains.  Innkeepers are happy to give you advice and directions depending on the difficulty of the hike you would liek to do or if youw ould liek to just pull over and snap a few pictures.  There are options for all levels of waterfall lovers!

Clarks NH Bear Cub Weigh In

We packed some drinks and headed to Clark’s Trading Post in Lincoln New Hampshire to see the Bear Show  at 1130AM this Tuesday.  From the Bartlett Inn in Bartlett NH it was approximately a 30 minute drive.  We took Rte 302 and enjoyed the views on the way of Silver Cascade Waterfalls in Crawford Notch, Mount Washington and the Mt Washington Historic Hotel.  We had a blast at Clark’s.  We had parents, a 15 year old and a 6 year old with us.  The Bear Show was awesome .  There were 2 new bear cubs that stole the show.  The large male bear was weighed during the show and we estimated that some of the bears we see passing through the yard at the Bartlett Inn weigh in over the 400 pound mark…yikes!   We had a nice affordable lunch in the park..kid friendly food grilled cheese and hot dogs and fries.  The staff were busy but all very nice!  The water blaster boats are fun and they are not kidding when they say be prepared to get absolutely soaked..especially if your kids turn against you! The train ride is bizarre with the crazy wolfman chasing you but the kids seem to love to hate him!  The Chinese Acrobats…I always find it funny to see something like this in the rural mountains of NH!  We did not try the Segway as the kids were a bit too small but it looked fun and so did the climbing wall.  Very cool in the Wizards lair!  Don’t miss the little museum with the history of Clark’s, they started out with dog sled adventures.  Mrs Clark was pretty amazing and was the first woman summiting Mt Washington  with  a dog sled team. The great thing about this park is that the admission is very cheap reasonable ($18 adults and kids $7 for s5 and under – perspective Story land in Glen NH is $26.99 and Santa’s Village in Jefferson, NH is $per person but under 4 is FREE) and they do not then charge you for every ride and game in the park.  Once you are in you can do it all.  Even on a busy day no wait was very long.  I call Clark’s a weird but wonderful day for the whole family! 

 The drive home we took the Kankamangus Highway US Route 112 and stopped at all the scenic overlooks along the way taking sunset pictures and looking for Moose.  In a little bog on the side of the road we spotted a momma and baby moose but they heard us coming and took off as we pulled up. We turned down Bear Notch Road and enjoyed more scenic pull offs with great views of the Bartlett Village below. Great day out and then we took  at swim in the Bartlett Inn heated swimming pool, perfect ending to the day!

Did you know that Storyland not only has rides but also has several shows.  Most encourage kids to participate and the Circus is excellent. The Storyland Glen NH Circus show is unexpectedly professional!  There is a huge circus tent, popcorn and coton candy and several different performers.  I cannot give it all away and tell you what the acts are but my Storyland tiop of the day is to check what the circus times are when you enter the park and then make sure you see one of the shows.  Teh BArtlett Inn located near Storyland offers Family Lodging with heated pool and yummy breakfast.  We offer Storyland Packages that save you $$$

 noticeably cooler up North at the Bartlett Inn near Storyland NH.  Guests from Boston and New York have been commenting on what a relief it is to enjoy less humid and cooler air.  Refreshing.  The Bartlett Inn near North Conway NH provides a great location surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest and Crawford Notch State Park for hiking and swimming.  Yes we have a heated outdoor pool but yesterday we took the tubes and went for a mile ride down the river.  Innkeeper Miriam took her niece and a new student friend and the kids were amazed how beautiful the views were, how refreshing the water was and how relaxing an afternoon it made.  We ended the Saco River NH tubing ride with a jump off the Big Rock in the middle of the river in Bartlett, New Hampshire.

The famous Fryeburg Fair, held in Fryeburg Maine, is running 3-10 October 2010 and is just a half hour drive from Bartlett New Hampshire!  This is a great country fair with delicious food, competitions, crafts, rides, entertainment, and my favorite - livestock.  As a kid from the suburbs of NY I have seen animals at the zoo but never the breeds of animals that they have at this fair.  There are ox the size of elephants, sheep and goats in interesting colors and markings and enormous draft horses to name just a few!  So come stay with us this week and enjoy the fair! Wealways say it is like staying at grandma’s house. Saturday night by the fire pit was awesome.  We roasted Carmel/Vanilla Marshmallows which were delicious.  We had music around the fire with 3 guitars and many voices joining in singing some classics!  It doesn’t get any better than this!
