Country Inns in the White Mountains First Annual Herb Tour – a delicious success

The Bartlett Inn in the Mount Washington Valley along with the other 11 members of the Country Inns in the White Mountains participated in our first annual herb tour this weekend.  Participants learned all about fresh herbs– their uses, history, and versatility. Each inn chose one herb and offered delicious samples of a special recipe using the herb from their own kitchen garden. There was a taste of tomato basil soup, carrot-chervil dip, sage biscuits, tarragon egg salad, the Bartlett Inn’s Greek chive vinaigrette,or rosemary chocolate cookies. Guests received a folder of new recipes, interesting herbal lore and pots of herbs or seeds to grow in their own herb garden.  I for one am having the Greek Chive Vinaigrette on a grilled chicken salad for dinner tonight..delicious!

That sounds like a fantastic idea! I love herbs and would welcome the opportunity to take this tour as well as learn how to use herbs in any of those delicious recipes listed. Do you recommend any particular kitchen supplies to make cooking with herbs easier, such as a food processor or other?

Hi yes the food processor makes things quicker!
