Bartlett NH SNOW

Bartlett New Hampshire in the White Mountains on the East side of Crawford Notch and Mt Washington received another 8 inches of snow on the 26-27 January winter storm.  We did a a wintry mix at the end but not enough to affect the 8 inches plus the foot that was under that.  The skiing conditions for Down hill and cross country right now are awesome.  Especially the the local Bartlett NH venues.  Attitash Bear Peak Mountain is located in Bartlett New Hampshire just 2 miles West of the Bartlett Inn & Cottages New Hampshire Bed and Breakfast and Bear Notch Cross Country Ski Network is accessable out the Bartlett Inn’s back door!  Bartlett Inn is jsut 12 miles West of North Conway NH and we have top snow conditions right now.  I know this may seem hard to imagine since I took a ride south to Manchester, New Hampshire this weekend and could not believe they had no snow!  I wanted to let all our Southern New England Firends know ….Yes Virginia,  There is Great Snow and Skiing in Bartlett New Hampshire!! Snowmobile Trails on the Bear Notch Road Network in Bartlett NH are alo excellent! The whole family went out for the first cross country ski day of the season on Saturday, 14 January, 2012.  The new snow in Bartlett and the chilly temps made for fantastic grooming and skiing!  Packed powder and no ice!   Bear Notch Ski touring Center is dog friendly and has 70 kilometers to ski.  We brought our cockapoo and met other very friendly dogs and skiers on the trails!  The Cockapoo, Noodles, even pulled one of the kids for ski jouring fun! The Waterfalls were part frozen and some of the brooks were still flowing – spectacular views. Wildcat NH view to Tuckermans Ravine Mt Washington NH

Ride the Wildcat Gondola to the top of Wildcat Ski NH Mountain and stay at the Bartlett Inn hotel close to North Conway NH.  The views are as spectacular in summer as they are in winter.  We even saw a large bull moose on the Gondola ride laying just under the!  At the top there are several hikes short or long you can do and they give you access to even more views!  WE made it tot the very summit of Wildcat where there is a lookout platform…spectacular looking into Tuckerman Ravine and Huntington Ravine on Mt Washington NH across Pinkham Notch.

The Wildcat zip line is quite long and a real thrill!  The only drawback is that you have to weigh about 70 lbs to ride and so our 7 year old was not able to try it.  Maybe next year!  Stay at the Bartlett Inn Bed and Breakfast and Cottages and then enjoy a beautiful scenic short drive to Wildcat.  The innkeeper will give you some tips for hikes along the way and you can even get lunch at the mountain!  Call 1 800 292 2353.
