Ride the Wildcat Gondola to the top of Wildcat Ski NH Mountain and stay at the Bartlett Inn hotel close to North Conway NH. The views are as spectacular in summer as they are in winter. We even saw a large bull moose on the Gondola ride laying just under the! At the top there are several hikes short or long you can do and they give you access to even more views! WE made it tot the very summit of Wildcat where there is a lookout platform…spectacular looking into Tuckerman Ravine and Huntington Ravine on Mt Washington NH across Pinkham Notch.

The Wildcat zip line is quite long and a real thrill! The only drawback is that you have to weigh about 70 lbs to ride and so our 7 year old was not able to try it. Maybe next year! Stay at the Bartlett Inn Bed and Breakfast and Cottages and then enjoy a beautiful scenic short drive to Wildcat. The innkeeper will give you some tips for hikes along the way and you can even get lunch at the mountain! Call 1 800 292 2353. Did we mention that you can bring your dog with you on the tram!! As long as they don’t suffer from vertigo!

We have seen many many moose, bears, fox, red squirrels, gray squirrels, chip monks and unfortunately right now a wood chuck. We have kept a log of the birds we have enjoyed seeing at the Bartlett Inn near North Conway NH and Jackson NH. Ruby Throated Hummingbirds, Nut Hatch, Pileated Woodpeckers, Tufted Tit-Mouse, Blue Jays, Robins, Yellow Finch, Purple Finch, Juncos..the list goes on and on!
If you want to see a moose, bear and other wildlife Bartlett NH is a great base for exploring birds and animals. The innkeepers will share their most recent sightings and locations to help your pursuit. Call 1 800 292 2353 and we will help you see some wildlife!

Don’t miss the Return of the Pumpkin People in Jackson NH, Bartlett NH, North Conway NH. It is a local tradition and contest to create Pumpkin People with heads as pumpkin and bodies like a scare crow. There are many displays throughout the area. Maps of official displays can be picked up at the Bartlett Inn by guests or at the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce. It is a lot of fun to drive around, enjoy the scenery and have a few laughs at the clever creativity of the Pumpkin People. This Year we decided to go with a fun Disney and music favorite Rock Star Hannah Montana. One Pumpkin has 2 personalities, one side Hannah – a blond sparkly dressed rock star and the other side Miley, a brunette in a country skirt. Of course Hannah is joined by her sidekick “Lola’ in a crazy pink and tacky outfit and good ole Robbie Ray is standing right next to the hay bales with his mullet and guitar! Some come up to New Hampshire and enjoy a hike to a waterfall, a good meal, a soak in the outdoor jacuzzi, a dink by Bartlett Inn’s wood fireplace, and a drive to enjoy the Pumpkin People.

After 8 years of exploring North Conway, Jackson and Bartlett in the White Mountains of New Hampshire we had the chance to explore the section of the Saco River from Humphreys Ledge in Bartlett through to the First Bridge in North Conway. The Bartlett Inn provides lodging near North Conway and Storyland and is a great location for tubing, kayaking and canoeing down the Saco River. We recommend the section from North Cownay to Conway and Fryeburg in the dryer times so you do not have ot drag your boat in low spots. There were so many beautiful deep spots along the way. We came off our tubes and swam and dove in off rocks, even swung from trees like tarzan. The kids loved the adventure. Better than Storyland! The adults loved that you could see every granule of sand on the bottom even in 6 feet of water. As a caution there are some sunken trees and braches you have to be careful of. We packed plenty of snacks and drinks and floated them on a small tube in a plastic bag. This tubing trip took about 4.5 hours and was a fantastic day out for kids from 6 years old to adults and teens. The river is very warm right now and the air temps in the 90s thi sweek made it the best place to keep cool! This river adventure takes some planning as you either have to set up pick up and drop off with Andes canoe and kayak rental or spot one car at the end and one at the beginning. Sit back, relax, cool off and enjoy one of the most beautiful scenic days out in the US right here at the Bartlett Inn NH! 1 800 292 2353.

What else..well I love the outlets..bargains galore..climb MT Reebok, Mt Nike, Mt Adidas or enjoy great bargain racks at the Children’s Place. Take a drive along the Uberblast in Glen NH and other Amusements Parks or if it is raining there is still plenty to do with the kids in North Conway NH. StorylandIf you are tired of hiking , river swimming and

The Bartlett Inn is in a great location for hikers to base themselves for hikes up Mount Washington NH and the Appalachian Trail running through the White Mountains. Many hikers stay 1 or 2 nights at the Bartlett Inn in Bartlett NH on the edge of Crawford Notch State Park NH and then hike the AMC hut system for a couple of days and return to the Bartlett Inn for a hot shower, great breakfast and a refreshing swim in the pool or in cooler weather the outdoor jacuzzi! Innkeeper Nick enjoyed a day out with a friend hiking and rock climbing in Huntington Ravine on Mt Washington this week. It was a huge challenge! In the winter Ice Climbing is a popular sport in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Frankenstein Cliffs is not far from the Bartlett Inn in Crawford Notch NH and is a very popular ice climbing spot. There are many other ice spots to practice too like the bottom of Elephant head or Cathedral or White Ledge State Parks in North Conway New Hampshire. Give Nick a call and he is happy to suggest hikes and rock climbs and ice climbs in the White Mountains 1 800 292 2353! There are a couple of local suppliers like IME that have safe reliable experienced guides for a great day out.

What a great day! We drove from the Bartlett Inn in Bartlett, NH to Santa’s Village in Jefferson

Moose in Crawford Notch NH en Route to Santa's Village

NH. On Us Rte 302 in Crawford Notch we saw a beautiful yearling Moose. She just stood 5 feet from the side of the road and let us take pictures for 10 minutes. She was a beauty! What a way to start the day! Santa’s Village was excellent. We had two families with 6 year olds and 15 year olds and all ages had a great time! There is a great mix of rides even for small children. Part of the fun is for the kids to do a Alphabet punch card where elves around the park are different letters of the alphabet. At the end kids submit the card for a diploma and a surprise. We thought it was great that each sleigh on the sleigh ride was equipped with an umbrella just in case! We also purchased a snow globe with our picture on it. It is our family tradition.

New Water Park Santas Village Lancaster NH

The new water park is fantastic. We were at Whales Tale in Lincoln NH last week and it is a similar contraption to their new playground. Large water playground with at least 5 slides stairs, squirters, and a giant bucket that empties every 5 minutes dousing whoever is below! Absolutely fantastic. The kids loved it ..especially the 15 year olds!

Ho Ho H2O Santas Village Bucket Splash Water PArk

This park is a little less expensive than Story land in Glen NH with an entry fee 2 dollars less and the food was approximately 20% less. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cookies in the bakery where you can design your own gingerbread man were delicious! WE all had a lot of fun and the adults had a great relaxing day. Where else an you say that about an amusement park!

Whale’s Tale WaterPark in Lincoln, NH is jsut a 30 minute drive from teh family friendly Bartlett Inn Bed and Breakfast in Bartlett Nh near North Conway NH and Storyland in Glen NH the wave pool was excellent. The atmosphere is great as they have fun music playing and all the kids could not help dancing as they walked around the park. This park had areas that were great for smaller kids as well as bigger slides to keep the teens happy…I was scared and let’s jsut say I am a bit post teen years! (29!) Back to the wave pool..when the waves were crashing on the pool shore it felt like we were at the ocean. W e had fun riding the waves on the tubes and the kids got drinks with umbrella’s like a real holiday! Entry was $32 and the food in the park was very reasonable. It is a funny thing..we thought the setting of the park was beautiful with mouain views everwhere you looked. We are looking forward to going back to enjoy this awesome park again!

We packed some drinks and headed to Clark’s Trading Post in Lincoln New Hampshire to see the Bear Show at 1130AM this Tuesday. From the Bartlett Inn in Bartlett NH it was approximately a 30 minute drive. We took Rte 302 and enjoyed the views on the way of Silver Cascade Waterfalls in Crawford Notch, Mount Washington and the Mt Washington Historic Hotel. We had a blast at Clark’s. We had parents, a 15 year old and a 6 year old with us. The Bear Show was awesome . There were 2 new bear cubs that stole the show. The large male bear was weighed during the show and we estimated that some of the bears we see passing through the yard at the Bartlett Inn weigh in over the 400 pound mark…yikes! We had a nice affordable lunch in the park..kid friendly food grilled cheese and hot dogs and fries. The staff were busy but all very nice! The water blaster boats are fun and they are not kidding when they say be prepared to get absolutely soaked..especially if your kids turn against you! The train ride is bizarre with the crazy wolfman chasing you but the kids seem to love to hate him! The Chinese Acrobats…I always find it funny to see something like this in the rural mountains of NH! We did not try the Segway as the kids were a bit too small but it looked fun and so did the climbing wall. Very cool in the Wizards lair! Don’t miss the little museum with the history of Clark’s, they started out with dog sled adventures. Mrs Clark was pretty amazing and was the first woman summiting Mt Washington with a dog sled team. The great thing about this park is that the admission is very cheap reasonable ($18 adults and kids $7 for s5 and under – perspective Story land in Glen NH is $26.99 and Santa’s Village in Jefferson, NH is $per person but under 4 is FREE) and they do not then charge you for every ride and game in the park. Once you are in you can do it all. Even on a busy day no wait was very long. I call Clark’s a weird but wonderful day for the whole family!

The drive home we took the Kankamangus Highway US Route 112 and stopped at all the scenic overlooks along the way taking sunset pictures and looking for Moose. In a little bog on the side of the road we spotted a momma and baby moose but they heard us coming and took off as we pulled up. We turned down Bear Notch Road and enjoyed more scenic pull offs with great views of the Bartlett Village below. Great day out and then we took at swim in the Bartlett Inn heated swimming pool, perfect ending to the day!
